Did You Know...Private Pool Games are Not Allowed?
If you are in the mood for a little 8 ball, you will always have an audience when you play in Kalispell, Montana. The city has an ordinance that states that all pool tables must be viewable from the street outside of the billiard hall they are located in. No one is exactly sure why this is or why it was ever made a law to begin with, but there are a few interesting theories.

Some believe that the law was put in place to combat illegal gambling. The thought being that if the people walking by could see what was going on, the 'rift-riff' would steer clear. Another theory is that the law was made to pacify a few upset wives.. They were upset that their husbands weren't coming straight home in the evenings and did't believe their stories of stopping off for a quick game and a drink, before coming home. The tables were moved in front of the windows so that curious and suspicious wives could see that their dearest husbands were behaving.
